Senior Portraits at The Country Mill {Naomi}

Sometimes the best sessions are the ones where you have unexpected weather, or you’re forced to wing-it in one way or another.  For Naomi’s portraits, we had rain, the entire time.  Her and her mom were so easy going and although we could have rescheduled, they were totally cool with making the day work.  It really didn’t matter that it was raining, and if I hadn’t told you, you wouldn’t even know!

I loved getting to work with Naomi’s family on these memories.  I’ve known them for a long time because I worked with her mom several years.  I love love love that they cherish this girl of theirs and wanted beautiful memories to reflect who she is right now.

Naomi attends The Dance Conservatory in Charlotte, MI.  Taking photos of her doing what she loves so much was absolutely necessary during my time with her.

Although I loved all of Naomi’s outfits, I think this one was my favorite. But, anyone who knows me, knows I love a bit of an edgy vibe in my style.

Last, but not least, the apple blossoms.  What a truly beautiful setting for portraits no matter who you are.  Thank you to The Country Mill for making a rare exception and opening up their beautiful property to us for spring portraits.

Know what? I surprise people all the time when I share a portrait that was taken in the rain but it still looks completely amazing!  Just a little tip: what’s going on outside shouldn’t affect the quality of what your photographer creates for you.  Sunshine or a specific time of day aren’t necessary to give you a breathtaking result.
