Why do we create senior portraits?
In my time as a portrait artist, I’ve learned from experience with my clients that high school senior portraits are some of the most valued memories parents and their kiddos have.
Senior portraits take place at a unique time in life when your kiddo is basically transitioning from childhood to adulthood in a very short period of time. It is a special time and a huge turning point for most families and their kids.
That is a huge part of the reason why I have specialized in senior portraits for so long. There is really nothing better than getting to know kids at this point in their lives and pouring myself into capturing memories that truly represent who they are.
Follow up on a future blog to learn more about why senior portraits are amazing, not only for the kids, but also for parents, and why creating them is one of my favorite things.
All about Amanda’s session…
Now onto Amanda’s senior portraits! Amanda’s senior portraits took place in two different seasons: summer and autumn. Amanda visited Amber for hair and makeup prior to each session and then we met at her locations. I LOVED helping her pick out what to wear throughout her sessions. Scroll through to see how gorgeous these turned out for her and her family.
SUMMER:
We included her love for tennis in her summer session and borrowed a court at MSU. These turned out so cute! I love them!
AUTUMN:
Session #2 started in studio where we could get some gorgeous headshots before heading outside to the park.
Amanda’s portrait memories…
Amanda and her mom chose a gallery wrap collage for their home, and a gorgeous album to hold Amanda’s favorite memories from her senior portraits. They both turned out so beautiful!
But wait, there’s more!
I found Amanda to be such a joy to be with that I invited her to join my senior VIP team this past winter. I also nominated her to be featured in a national teen magazine and be in the running for a scholarship for college. Voting isn’t over yet but so far, Amanda has received a full interview by the magazine and will be featured in Issue 23! You can read her interview here. I adore this kiddo and I’m so excited to create this opportunity for her!
