Courtney’s session was one of those sessions where we took a potentially bad thing… a THUNDERSTORM, and made it into something amazing!! Courtney had her hair and makeup done and on the way to her location, it was absolutely gorgeous out. But, wouldn’t you know that as soon as we arrived, it started downpouring. Not just raining, literally downpouring! I swear I saw some cats, dogs, and maybe a few other things come flying out of the sky! We sat and waited… and waited some more… it wouldn’t quit. It wasn’t going to quit. No chance. The funny part is, it was raining so hard, we couldn’t even roll down the windows and talk to each other! So, we sat in our individual cars, parked next to each other, and texted and called each other to figure out what we were going to do. In the end, we decided we were going to drive til we were out of the downpour, so off we went! We drove about 20 minutes east and found a spot where it wasn’t raining so hard, and that’s where we decided to shoot! First, we started out under any overhang we could find- I did NOT want Courtney getting soaked right in the beginning of her session! I loved her white dress and black cowboy boots together!
Next, Courtney switched to bright pink. LOVE! And, she happened to be carrying around her umbrella to stay dry in between shots, so I thought, “hey, let’s use that for a picture or two!”.
Can you see the occasional drops of water on Courtney’s face and skin? They’re there, but I bet if I didn’t tell you, you would have no clue it was rainy and dark throughout her entire session!
Next came the pink dress. I kinda got the feeling Courtney likes the color pink! LOL. We found some super cool walls to use with this dress, and hauled out the umbrella for another shot. That photo with her umbrella and that pink wheel that PERFECTLY matches her dress… AMAZING! OH MY GOODNESS, I knew when I took it that it was going to be one of my faves!!
And, what are senior pictures without a tutu and a ruffle-bum leo! HAHA! Courtney, you are so much fun!
I think Courtney makes a pretty darn cute cowgirl if I do say so myself!
Loved loved loved working with you, Courtney!! Can’t wait for you to take all your gorgeous pictures home!
